The Salton Sea Authority is a Joint Powers Authority responsible for overseeing the comprehensive restoration of the Salton Sea; the Water Resources Institute works collaboratively with the Salton Sea Authority  by developing an extensive archive of information related to the Salton Sea, the surrounding community and the issues most important to the region.

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians has partnered with WRI to collaborate on the Salton Sea Repository and the work WRI is doing in the region.

The Salton Sea Initiative at the University of California, Irvine is a multidisciplinary group building connections among disciplines and communities concerned about the sustainability challenges facing the Salton Sea region.

The Imperial Irrigation District is a utility agency covering the Coachella and Imperial Valleys, whose web site is highly informative about the area in and around the Salton Sea.

Local newspaper The Desert Review offered this article about the Salton Sea in March, 2014.

The Coachella Valley Water District offers a website with current news and information for the region, including weekly press releases that serve to inform the local communities.
